Bethany Abbate

 

Bethany Abbate is the Manager of Artificial Intelligence Policy at the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). She has extensive experience with cybersecurity and AI policy/issues across the transportation, financial services, and technology sectors. Prior to joining SIIA, she worked on the Federal Government Affairs team at Allianz of America Corporation and was a Senior Policy Analyst at a policy research consultancy where she conducted regulatory due diligence for institutional investors and private equity firms.

Bethany also has experience working in policy and communication roles across the State of Oregon, including the Oregon State Treasury, Oregon Department of Transportation, Oregon Legislature and the Office of former Governor Kate Brown. Bethany received her BA in Civic Communication and Media from Willamette University and her MA in Strategy, Cybersecurity and Intelligence from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies.
