Reza Rejaie is a Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oregon, and a founding Associate Director of the Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (OCCoE), where he leads all UO-based activities. He has spearheaded the creation of UO’s bachelor’s and master’s degrees in cybersecurity, a graduate certificate program, and a teaching Security Operations Center (TSOC) on campus.

Reza currently leads the HECC-funded NICE project, which aims to promote cybersecurity education and training for high school teachers and students across Oregon.

His research interests include network measurement, cybersecurity, congestion control, multimedia networking, peer-to-peer networking, and social computing. His work has been widely cited and has contributed to advancements in both academia and industry. He received an NSF CAREER Award in 2005 for his work on peer-to-peer streaming and a Marie Curie Fellowship from the European Union in 2009. Reza has held visiting professor positions at Sorbonne University, the Politecnico di Torino, and the IMDEA Networks Institute.

He is a Fellow of the IEEE (2017) for his contributions to multimedia networking and Internet measurement, and a Distinguished Member of the ACM (2022) for outstanding scientific contributions to computing.
