Why Diversity in Cybersecurity Matters and how SentinelOne is working on that gap

Since IT companies began cropping up in the late 1980s, the cybersecurity field has lacked diversity. While more women and people of color of all genders have entered the field in recent years, these groups are still underrepresented in cybersecurity. As cyberattacks increase in scale and severity, so does the global demand for cybersecurity professionals – in all aspects of the field and across all sectors. The supply seemingly cannot keep up, resulting in a serious talent shortage. In this talent shortage, there is an even bigger and more troubling gap- the lack of diversity.
