Joseph Price

Joseph has worked in cybersecurity for 30 years, serving in various roles in both defensive and offensive cyber disciplines. He began his journey in cybersecurity before the term “cyber” was even used… as a Computer Network Defense Crew Commander serving in the Air Force’s first Information Warfare Squadron. He quickly developed a passion for the work on the front lines of such early watershed events as Solar Sunrise, Code Red, and the Nimda worm. Most of his time was spent working in offensive operations and capability development, which provided him a unique perspective of how an adversary approaches targeting and impacting our critical infrastructure.

After 20 years with the Department of Defense, Joseph moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 2014 and began working for the Idaho National Laboratory, where he served as Deputy Director for Critical Infrastructure Protection and focused on nation-state threats to the U.S.’s Energy, Water, and Transportation sectors. Again, he found himself directly involved in watershed moments in OT cybersecurity such as the 2015 and 2016 cyber attacks against Ukraine’s electric infrastructure as well as co-authoring the seminal work on Cyber-Informed Engineering (CIE). At Deloitte since 2021, Joseph leads our OT cybersecurity program along with investments, focusing on growth in multiple critical infrastructure verticals, serving both government and commercial clients.
